This is the second one I’ve owned. My cats live in it. The first lasted 5 years before it showed wear. My suggestion is to reseal it annually to preserve the wood.

What is the Cat Solarium?

A handcrafted, window-mounted enclosure that lets your indoor cat enjoy the outdoors, safely and comfortably.

What materials is it made from?

Premium ¾-inch cabinet-grade plywood, hand-painted with water-resistant exterior primer and PPG paint.

Is it safe for large cats?

Absolutely! Each unit is strong enough to hold cats up to at least 50 lbs.

Can I use this in an apartment?

Yes. It’s designed to fit standard windows in homes, apartments, or offices.

What’s included in the base unit?

The solarium frame, plexiglass roof, assembly hardware, and an Allen wrench for easy assembly.

Installation & Fit
What window size do I need?

Minimum opening: 24″ wide and 14.5″ high.

What if my window is wider?

We include heavy-duty vinyl with Velcro for temporary sealing. Wood or plexiglass panels are best for permanent installation.

How long does setup take?

About 20 minutes using the included Allen wrench. No special tools required.

Will I need to modify my window?

No permanent changes required.

Can I move or uninstall it easily?

Yes! The unit is easily removable for cleaning, relocation, or seasonal changes.

Cat door panel, mesh screen, perch/landing, weather enclosure, and a custom pillow.

Can I buy accessories separately?

Yes. All components are sold individually and in bundled packages.

What is the weather enclosure?

Plexiglass inserts that insulate the Solarium and that make it suitable for winter weather.

Is the cat door removable?

Yes. The door panel slides into grooves built into the Solarium.

Do you offer larger doors for big cats?

Yes! We offer a larger size for cats over 15 lbs.

Yes. You’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking once shipped.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, but the buyer is responsible for additional shipping or other fees.

How do I clean the solarium?

Wipe with a damp cloth. Plexiglass can be cleaned with a glass-safe solution.

Is the pillow washable?

Yes! It’s machine washable and can be air-dried.

Is the paint waterproof?

Yes. It’s primed and painted with durable, water-resistant finishes.

Is it safe in winter or rain?

Yes. With the weather enclosure, it can be used year-round. Even in the snow!

Will my cat actually use it?

You’ll be lucky to get it assembled before your cat gets into it.

Is it safe to leave my cat unattended?

Yes, though we recommend monitoring temperature and weather extremes.

Is it chew- or scratch-proof?

The plexiglass roof is scratch-resistant. The wood is sturdy but may wear over time if chewed.
